Wrap shirts are like wrap dresses: flattering, easy to style, and classic. I remember the time I had to throw away one of my favorite wrap shirts because it was so worn out. It was one of my first ‘grown up’ wardrobe purchases straight out of college. It was short sleeved and black with white polka dots and I wore it at least once a week…at LEAST. Nowadays, wrap shirts are becoming trendy with bell sleeves and exaggerated tie detailing like the one I have below. And people, I’m here for ALL of it.
Wear it unapologetically
I paired my wrap top with super distressed jeans to uptick the trendy factor on this look – yes, I was feeling a bit ‘extra’. I added my new favorite slides and added my throwback Brahmin bag (not pictured) to round out the look. I kept my accessories minimal by wearing extra large hoops and stacking my bracelets. I could easily see wearing this top to the office with slacks, for date night with a skirt, and for running errands with jeans or shorts like they’re styled below. As you can see, this top may be trendy, but with its classic elements it makes it a wardrobe staple and versatile to style depending on the occasion.
Style tip: The exaggerated tie detailing allows you to play with this top further depending on the feel that you’re going for. For a more elegant and pulled together look, create a bow with the tie – be it voluminous or flowing.
