Winter Coats: ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’

With the weather dipping into more frigid temperatures, your outerwear is almost more important than the outfit that you wear underneath…well, not really, but you get the point.  Your coat and winter gear accessories definitely add the finishing touches to your outfit and can easily serve as your signature or staple piece.  I love a midi tailored pea coat; the swing and the fit creates the perfect silhouette to complete your look.  I scored the one below a couple of years ago from Victoria’s Secret and I still love it.  If you are looking for a winter coat to splurge on, this classic midi length peacoat would be the perfect one to start with because you will be able to wear it for the years to come.

I kept it simple with an all black look underneath my coat, with a turtleneck and faux leather pant from H&M.  I accessorized my look with my Versona sunglasses, JustFab fringe booties, and JustFab chain link necklace.

  1. OMG, Venus! You hit it on the nail! I loooove this post. I am leaning toward the camel and black color combination and absolutely adore your coat. Not to mention, the fringe booties add a really nice eclectic touch. My sister just gifted me (yes I opened it early lol) a black and camel skirt from Ann Taylor. I can not wait to wear it! Keep up the terrific posts : )

    1. Haha! Thanks! It is such a perfect combo color, but kind of unexpected!

  2. […] I love this wool coat I got from Victoria’s Secret several years ago because it is a classic.  Note that I said that I purchased it several years ago and I am still wearing it.  To freshen it up a bit, I decided to wear a scarf, but not in the traditional way.  I added my patterned scarf and belted it along with my coat.  The scarf added layers and the belt added dimension and changed the shape of my coat to create a totally different look than how you saw me rock it last year.
