I personally love when trends have a classic feel to them. Ruffles are super trendy now, but they aren’t new. We’ve seen ruffles all through the years, making it a classic that has the spotlight at the moment. Now, I’m not a fan of the overly feminine ruffles. There is a such thing as ‘doing too much’ when it comes to that. I’m more of a fan of ruffles that pop up in places you don’t necessarily expect it. Like a middle seam. Across the shoulder. On the cuff of your sleeve; those places where it makes sense and we are left thinking, “That should have happened a long time ago!” The skirt featured in this post is a perfect example of that.
Wear it unapologetically
The skirt below is a new release from BLANK Wardrobe that features ruffle detailing along an asymmetrical seam. This means that the skirt will still be flattering as a typical pencil skirt would be, but still feature a trendy edge to it that catches your eye. I paired it with a lace turtle neck top and a leather jacket to make this look a bit more edgy. I finished the look off with my favorite booties to add more edge to the look.
I love this skirt because it’s great for the office, but also great for outside of the office…remember versatility in your wardrobe is going to give you the most bang for your buck. Of course, ditch the lace and the leather and go for a more modest top to pair with it to make it more appropriate for the office.
