Trend Report: Mellow Yellow

Move over florals and pastels and move in bright yellow hues for spring! It is so easy and expected to rock florals and pastels as soon as the weather breaks and the flowers begin to bloom, and there is nothing necessarily wrong with that, just typical.  This spring is all about being bold and unexpected with incorporating tailored silhouettes, bold and bright patterns, and bright hues.  Yellow is great because it’s bright and commands attention when worn, but depending on how you incorporate it into your ensemble, it can act as a neutral or outfit anchor.

If you are not ready to don a complete yellow outfit, no worries.  The great thing about this color is that it works as a statement or accent piece.  Accessories are a great way to add a pop of pizzaz to your outfit.  But if you’re bold enough to wear an all yellow outfit, the options are endless on how to rock this look the right way without looking like Big Bird.
