Minimalism coupled with a bit of exaggeration seems to be the thing to do, especially as we go into the fall. As we begin to wear our heavier jackets and sweaters, keeping our accessories a bit light seems to create the best of combos. It’s that whole idea of at first glance it may not seem to go together, but once you pair it together whether on purpose or by mistake, it just works.

Minimalist by nature, I love playing with simple and clean elements when it comes to my overall outfit palette, but adding a third piece (remember that?) that is unexpected and a bit exaggerated. It’s easy to do that with accessories. Whether that be with hats, glasses, purses, shoes, or jewelry, adding a rather bizarre element to an otherwise simple outfit is so effortlessly chic. The long necklaces in the collage below are an example of this.
Popping one of these necklaces over a turtle neck or chunky sweater instantly changes the vibe of the outfit; making it more chic. I plan to incorporate several of these into my fall wardrobe.
