The crop top trend isn’t going anywhere; it’s somewhat of a classic. Over the years, we’ve seen different styles of the crop top trend, but through the different styles we’ve seen the crop top stand the test of time. Crop tops can be flattering for most shapes. What makes it stand out most is the confidence that you have to have when you put it on; it takes a certain level of confidence to rock a crop top and pull it off the right way.
Wear it unapologetically
Crop tops can be worn with just about any bottom and can be layered or worn by itself. Depending on your mood and the occasion, the crop top can be playful or dressed up. And don’t get it twisted, if you don’t like to show your midriff, you’re good to go by layering your crop top over a longer top or by wearing high waisted bottoms. My favorite way to wear crop tops as of late has been with high waisted bottoms. The shape is flattering and actually can have a slimming affect depending on your shape. For example, if you have a small waist, pairing your crop top with high waisted pants adds curves in the right places and draws the eye to your narrow waist which can make you appear slimmer.
I decided to wear my crop top with skinny high waisted cigarette pants and added a wild card pop of color with my pink bag to make this look even more playful. I added patent leather loafers to finish off the look.
Style tip: Pair your crop top with a bottom that’s high waisted and full. This could look like wide leg pants or a full skirt. This helps elongate your legs and therefore makes you look taller.
