A graphic sweatshirt can be so versatile. It can be girlie or tomboyish, casual or dressy, I mean I can go on and on. I decided to do a mixture of girlie and tomboyish for my Nirvana sweatshirt I scored for $20 at Forever21. Although I was still a baby when Nirvana was created and at their peak, I went through a phase of liking alternative and rock music and of course Nirvana was one of my favorites. I was also intrigued by Kurt Cobain, his personality overall and his mental health issues as I had always been interested in how people think and why people do the things that they do. His death was tragic and at the time I didn’t understand why someone so talented and successful would want to hurt himself. I am still a bit bewildered by the whole story as it seemed his death never really had any real closure.
As an ode to my childhood and favorite bands, I found it fitting for this outfit to be a bit quirky and edgy.
