Summer Time Polka Dots

If you follow me on instagram, you have seen this skirt that I thrifted from Goodwill and this clutch that I scored from Target for $8 bucks (it’s actually a “media case”, but I am obviously using it as a clutch)! I love mixing and matching colors and patterns…but in a way that makes sense to my eye.

Sometimes, people get caught up in being fashionable and believe that mixing patterns is in fact fashion…this is not the case and there are rules to mixing and matching patterns that don’t necessarily go together.  The reason why this works is because of the differences in color, texture, and size of the polka dots; they actually compliment each other instead of fighting each other.  When I mix patterns that are not typically mixed together, I make sure that they are not competing for attention.
