Should you add Cantu Apple Cider Vinegar Root Rinse to your hair care regimen?

For the last year or so I’ve been suffering from a very dry and flaky scalp. I suspect that it’s my eczema flaring up in the form of dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis, but I’m not sure. Have I gone to the dermatologist? No. Should I? Well, of course, but Chile I just got four wisdom teeth pulled and my eyes checked…that has to count for something. One step at a time. So anyway, I’ve been trying different products for dry and flaky scalp.

I’ve tried Selsun Blue, which was OK. Then I tried Head and Shoulders specifically for seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, and dry scalp, which worked wonderfully until now. Now, Im trying something a bit different: Cantu Apple Cider Vinegar Root Rinse. I was strolling through Target one evening and of course I made my way to the beauty and hair product aisles. I saw some new gems from Cantu that included this root rinse and immediately wanted to try it. Before we get into the specs and all the other technical stuff about this product, I am so far in love with this product! Let’s see what this product is all about.

The Quick and Dirty

What it is and what it does: Cantu’s Apple Cider Vinegar Root Rinse deeply cleanse and moisturizes your scalp. It also soothes scalp, promotes healthy hair growth and conditions scalp and hair.

Active Ingredients: Apple Cider Vinegar, tea tree oil, and shea butter (and, psssttt, they are listed within the first 5 ingredients on the label, which means that there’s a lot of these ingredients in this product.

Claims: This product claims to detox your scalp and condition hair to reveal healthier, stronger, and shinier hair.

What I liked: So, first things first. I love the pointy tip of the bottle for application. It makes getting the product on your scalp super easy. I loved the smell of the product; it didn’t smell to strong, very light considering that it has apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil in it. Once you apply the product it goes on as a liquid that lathers a bit as you massage it into your scalp. It tingles a bit, which I love because it makes me feel like its working. Beyond a stellar first impression of the product, I loved the results. My scalp and hair overall felt clean and refreshed. And I experienced minimal flakes after using…my flakes are not 100% gone, but I do see an improvement.

Price: You’ll drop a solid $4.99 for this gem at Target.

Is it worth it: Absolutely! Especially for my natural and thick haired beauties. The applicator alone makes cleaning your scalp easy and the tingling and smell actually makes the whole experience of washing and massaging your scalp enjoyable. The actual mixture of products in this gem actually cleans the product residue and more out of your scalp. I look forward to keeping this gem in my hair care regimen.
