There’s something new coming to Pinkklipstick this year! Starting today, I will be doing seasonal lookbooks that will highlight trends of the featured season and how you can personalize those trends to make them your own – you know how we do here, it’s all about being uniquely trendy (aka incorporate trends in a way that fits your personality). To kick us off, we are looking at looks for spring. We will have three total looks with the one below to start us off and a new one tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday. We will end the lookbook series with the all encompassing video debut Thursday.
The lookbooks will be threefold: a standard outfit post, video overview, and various social posts. I’m super excited about being able to create this type of rich content for you all to use as a resource as you are shopping and building up your wardrobes each season.
Believe it or not, you can do black for spring, along with of course olives and blues. You can also expect to see several deconsturcted favorites to make them a bit more edgy, like two piece assymetrical shirt dresses and extreme drop crotch jumpsuits.
Spring Lookbook Outfit #1
Bombers have been the move over several seasons and for good reason. For spring they will serve as that easy layering piece that you need to complete your outfit. The floral versions have had a great moment and are definitely still a ‘do’, but they are not of course the only one’s available especially if florals don’t fit your style personality. Here is a perfect example of how to be uniquely trendy. I decided to pick up this polka dot Who What Wear bomber because I’ve been into black and white lately and I love a good polka dot moment. I’ve wanted a bomber for a while, but not necessarily the floral ones that have been going around.
I didn’t wear anything under my bomber because I wanted it to have a more edgy vibe to it. I paired it with my favorite skinny distressed black jeans and Sam Edelman gladiator sandals to lighten up the look a bit for spring. I polished the look with my D&G sunnies and Target handbag, which looks more expensive than it really is (good look, Target).
Gotta love versatility: There are several ways that you can rock this bomber and make it work for your style personality. To sexy it up a bit, wear it off the shoulders (no bra or tank straps, please!). To make it a true layering piece, go ahead and throw a tank on underneath or a t-shirt and wear it unzipped to expose what you have on underneath.
