Melange Mode: Ode to Summer

Although summer has been officially over for a couple of weeks now, here in the south, it’s still felt like summer up until a couple of days ago.  Now, it’s feeling a bit more like spring without the humidity.  I’m not complaining though because I haven’t had to transition my wardrobe over completely.

Recently, I went to a pop-up shop called Zuvaa.  Zuvaa is a marketplace for African inspired clothing and accessories and have been hosting pop-up shops around the country.  They had one here, in Atlanta, a couple of months ago and I missed it, so when they came back this past weekend, I made sure to carve out time to check them out.  Also, one of my new favorite designers, Melange Mode, was there and I had to show support and pick up an item or two.  I decided to pick up this off the shoulder crop top that I will be rocking for as long as the weather holds up now and definitely into the spring and summer.

Wear it Unapologetically

I decided to pair my top with mid-rise skinny jeans since the top is so full.  I added brown/nude pumps to add some height to the look – again to balance the ruffles of the top.  I kept the accessories minimal since the top is such a statement piece.  This top definitely commands attention because of its beautiful design, patterns, and colors.  However, you can still dress it down or up as you please.  A pencil skirt, shorts, or maxi skirt would suit this shirt perfectly.  I cannot wait to style this again in the spring and summer!
