A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of working with Neutrogena on a holiday campaign. I had to create a red carpet look with the products that they sent me. One of the main products that’s part of any makeup look that I was sent to create my look was their healthy skin foundation. Now, I’ve been wanting to check out this foundation for a while, but I never really got around to trying it. Part of the reason I haven’t tried it yet is because, unless it’s a tinted moisturizer, I stay away from foundations with SPF in them. This foundation has SPF in it and I was a bit skeptical of how it would look generally and definitely on cameras with flash. This was my chance to try it. And so, I tried it. Let’s get into it.
The Quick and Dirty
What it is and what it does: This foundation is light weight and has antioxidants and SPF 20 to provide a coverage that makes skin look healthy.
Active Ingredients: Titanium Dioxide 2.4% (sunscreen)
What I liked: Cutting to the chase: I thought that this foundation was just OK. I loved the texture of the foundation and how smooth and healthy my skin looked, but there was some if-y things about it that I couldn’t really shake. The color range is minimal. I had to mix two different shades to get the color just right and I’m really not a fan of mixing foundations. I have combination skin and typically shy away from dewy or really moisturizing formulas like this one because they make me appear oily. This foundation had my T-zone oily and very shiny. Adding powder helped, but made the foundation feel a bit thick.
Price: You’ll drop about $12 on this gem.
Is it worth it: Overall, I’d recommend this foundation for those who have dry skin and for those who don’t mind mixing foundations to get their perfect shade.
