Wearing a shirt dress with jeans can be a refreshing way to combine these two closet staples. We’ve seen this combo all over the place for fall to extend the life of rocking your shirt dress in the cooler weather. However, depending on how you rock it, it can still work for summer, especially rocking it in a perfect for summer texture like the seersucker dress below.
Wear it unapologetically
I decided to pair a shirt dress that I picked up from the thrift store with my favorite distressed jeans that I DIYed. I added a sandal and my large tote to help balance out the length of the shirt dress and to add some weight to the look. The longer the shirt dress, the better it flows to keep the look relaxed and effortless. The cool thing about this look is that how far you button down or up your shirt dress, you can change up your look fairly easily. This would be similar to how you would style your essential button ups, but of course with the consideration of a dress. I like to button mine half way down for more flow and to show the color and texture of whatever jean I decide to wear with it.
Have you tried this look? How did you rock it?
