How to Look Fab While Rocking Plaid

Last week I had the ultimate pleasure of attending the annual Family Dollar Fabulous event.  The event was a great way to bring awareness to the extensive lines of top tier national hair and beauty brands available at Family Dollar.  Family Dollar is not your average dollar store with knock off brands; they offer some of the brands that we gravitate to everyday for less.  I will have a full recap of the event on my blog later this week, along with another #ootd post showcasing a second look that I rocked at the event.

We did a lot of walking and moving around in general at the Family Dollar event so I knew I wanted to be comfortable while still looking fashionable.  I decided to rock one of my favorite plaid dresses as a shirt over my leather jeggings and layered a black crochet scarf for added layers and texture.  I rounded out my outfit with booties.  The fabulous Céline sunnies were borrowed from my new blogger friend, Monica of  Also shout out to my other blogger friend, Alaina of for being my ‘shooter’!

What I Wore: Dress: Guess (similar), Leather Leggings: H&M, Booties, JustFab, Scarf: Mabel Amedor, Sunglasses: Céline

  1. Nice post, Venus. Lovely pics! Seems like it was a successful event. I totally love the red plaid dress / shirt. Combining it with the scarf and booties makes it look very edgy. I will have to copy this ensemble soon! Keep up the fabulous posts!
