It all started with paper bag pants. Yeah. Paper bag pants. You’ve seen them all over social media and some of your favorite fashion magazines. They get their name from their exaggerated cinch waistline – the cinching is created by a tie belt and creates a ruffled waistline that I absolutely love. So, you get it? A paper bag thats cinched at the top to close or from you grabbing it? It’s coming together a bit for you, right? Well, the good news it that those pants have become shorts for the warmer weather of spring and summer. Paper bag shorts have all of the characteristics of the pants, except they are shorts.
Wear it unapologetically
Paper bag shorts (and pants) can come in a variety of colors, patterns, and textures. A Google search shows you how many varieties there could be to fit your style personality. These shorts can be super flattering because they are naturally high-waisted and forces you to wear something more fitted on top to show off the exaggerated waistline. I’d recommend pairing a fitted shirt as I did below, a body suit, or even a crop top to balance the look and the feature the waistline a bit.
