I’ve been eyeing prints lately to add some personality to my home. That interest in decorating and nesting got put on hold due to some repairs/renovations (leak-gate) that happened several months ago and are just being repaired – more on that in another post. 🙂
In the middle of my hiatus from decorating, an indie artist by the name of Jennifer Beck contacted me RE her prints of city maps that she produces and sales from her company, Modern Map Art. She is inspired by maps, “I loved seeing how the urban sprawl had developed over time, and how when you look from above the lines look like an organized chaos over the city which tells it’s own story,” she writes. With over 500 cities listed you are sure to find your city and if you can’t, you can put in a request to get it made. Jennifer also does custom orders by changing out the colors and creating your map print from slightly different perspectives.
The ordering process was easy and quick. I ordered my print and received it within a couple of days from when I first placed my order. I received the Atlanta print and decided to put it near our bar cart that we picked up from World Market. It looks great and has a lot of personality that fits our vibe. The next print I’ll get will be a Detroit one…for obvious reasons. I think the meaning behind having both prints next to each other will be a great conversation piece and represent my life journey – talk about nostalgia!
