Everyday Spring Shirt Dress

Shirt dresses have always been a spring and summer favorite for me.  I have several and keep them in constant rotation.  They are easy to style and wear.  You only have to worry about your accessories and shoes when styling these wardrobe staples.  We saw the runways for SS15 fashion week show designers playing with different colors, patterns, textures and lengths for shirt dresses to keep this trend exciting and refreshing for spring.

On my recent bomb of a trip to Goodwill last month, I scored two midi length shirt dresses: the one below and a seersucker pink one for only $5! The price was great, but I would have certainly paid a bit more for this find.  I love the versatility of this shirt dress.  I can unbutton some of the buttons to create a mid/high slight, roll up the sleeves (like I did below) or leave them rolled down, and cinch the waist, or leave it be ( the cut of this dress believe it or not makes this dress look good either way) to create different looks.

Playing with accessories is always fun with the clean and classic structure of a shirt dress.  I decided to wear some of my favorite Vera Bradley jewels including a necklace and bracelet (c/o Vera Bradley) along with my Tiffany sterling silver bracelet that I never take off.  I rounded my look off with my JustFab sling back peep toe booties and Forever21 belt.

What do you all think about the evolving shirt dress trend? Do you have one in your wardrobe repertoire?

  1. Nice post, Venus. The shirt dress has a retro feel. I looove the accessories to add a bit of a subtle edge. I must admit, I do not have a shirt dress but must purchase one for this season. Keep up the awesome posts!
