Eat Clean Today by Swapping These 12 Foods

One of the easiest ways to eat clean is to replace common foods for these 12 healthier options.  healthy would be very simple if a bare piece of chicken didn’t taste so horrible.  Lets face it everything we do involves key ingredients that make eating our food a more pleasant experience.  Some primates have even been seen rinsing potatoes in saltwater to make their potatoes taste better.  Since we have become accustomed to using particular ingredients to better prepare our food it would be almost impossible to prepare food without what we consider essential.  For instance,  I couldn’t bare eating a dry sandwich without mustard, cooking meat without seasoning, or eating a salad without dressing.

This is a list of unhealthy foods and their healthy substitutes:

greek yogurt for sour cream

sea salt for salt

Brown rice for white rice

Old fashioned oats w/ honey for Honey Nut Cheerios

Romaine Lettuce for Ice berg lettuce

Mustard/Avocado for Mayo/Miracle Whip

Water for Pop/juice

Mrs Dash for Seasoning salt

Olive oil for Ranch/French/Blue cheese dressing

Almonds/Cucumbers/ and or Carrots for Potato chips

 

By no means is this the “holy grail” to eating healthy, but it’s definitely a great start.  Stocking up on healthy foods is a great way to set yourself up for success when it comes to eating healthy.
