Ok. So, yeah. First things first: this serum is crazy amazing! After my love affair with Murad’s Age Spot Serum (which is really good by the way), I wanted to try something different because I felt like my skin began to get used to it. After doing some research, I decided to try Lancôme’s Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate Serum, and boy I’m glad I did.
The Quick and Dirty
What it is and what it does: This is an all purpose serum that has anti-aging properties including making skin more radiant, moisturized and it encourages cell turnover to help with dark spots and texture issues. It can be used on all skin types.
Active Ingredient: Bifidus extract, to help strengthen and protect skin’s moisture barrier (free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates).
Claims: Results should be noticed after just 7 days, after 8+ weeks, considerable changes in skin texture, elasticity, firmness, skin tone, and clarity should be noticed.
What I liked: I noticed results after using this serum only at night, within 3 days of using it. It is recommended that you use the serum day and night, but I like a fairly light routine in the morning. After using it for about 8 weeks, I noticed that my skin is clearer (I rarely suffer from breakouts even during ‘that time’ of the month), my skin looks radiant, and my skin is super moisturized. This time last year, I suffered from extreme dryness on certain areas of my face and this year I don’t have a single dry spot. I don’t have wrinkles or fine lines and I don’t have any sagginess or age spots, but I did notice that my dark circles and puffiness around my eyes seem to be a lot better as well and my dark spots from past breakouts continue to fade (Murad Age Spot serum took care of the bulk of my dark spots before using this serum).
Application: Top of bottle is also a self-loading dropper. As you open it, it fills with the perfect amount of serum to use each time. It is super light and absorbs into your skin quickly.
Price: The price depends on the size, can range from $78 – $178.
Is it worth it: YES! I highly recommend adding this serum to your skincare routine. It is a classic and has won reviews and I see why. This serum is a game-changer for sure!
