About two weeks ago I attended Family Dollar Fabulous. Family Dollar Fabulous is a great event that showcases the wide variety of top tier hair and beauty brands that are offered at more than 8,100 Family Dollar stores nationwide. Family Dollar has also expanded to offering a fashion forward affordable clothing line called “Just Be…”. This year, Family Dollar Fabulous stopped in Atlanta at the Intercontinental Hotel and hosted more than a dozen of our favorite hair and beauty brands such as Goody and Organic Root Stimulator, and about 40 of your favorite beauty bloggers/vloggers around the nation.
We enjoyed two days of being pampered and exploring the Family Dollar brand as a whole in addition to being able to speak with some of the brands face to face to learn more about their offerings and for them to learn more about us. I’ve captured some of the goodness below to give you all an idea of what this event was all about. I learned so much about Family Dollar and definitely have a different perspective and respect for the brand as a whole. Some of the things I learned about Family Dollar because of attending this event are:
[bctt tweet=”Family Dollar makes fashion and beauty accessible… “]
1. Family Dollar has some of our favorite beauty and hair care lines from Dark and Lovely, Organic Root Stimulator, L.A. Colors, and Covergirl to name a few.
2. Family Dollar is about empowering women to be fabulous no matter their financial or social circumstance.
3. Family Dollar makes fashion and beauty accessible with top tier beauty and hair brands along with their new clothing line, Just Be.
Get into some of the photos below highlighting some of the fun we had over two days while being hosted by Family Dollar.
Look at all the beauty and hair product goodness that you can get for less at Family Dollar? I mean…
Met this country singing beauty, Mickey Guyton, at the Kotex U booth. She was so sweet! Love meeting great people living in their purpose. That shine from within is truly undeniable!
Had a ball at the African Pride Booth AND won a 3 month of supply of hair products. This is on top of the full sized products I received in my goodie bag!
The Cantu booth was adorable. I was able to make my own special hair product “cocktail using some of their premier products in addition to some of our favorite essential oils to provide intense moisture to my natural hair.
You can’t go wrong with body sprays! Especially with these Body Fantasies goodies. Love adding body sprays to my shower/bath routine.
Nice set-up at the Luster’s Pink booth. Who remembers Pink lotion moisturizer? I mean if you have naturally curly hair and you did not have this staple in your household growing up, we may have to re-evaluate some things…
Organics by Africa’s Best gave a great recap of their brand’s history and growth in addition to having a bartender to make us bloggers some mocktails. I think some of the girls were more interested in the bartender than the mocktails…
Just about all the girls left the Fabulous event with instant manicures courtesy of Edge press on nails. In a pinch and need your nails done? These are an affordable and quick way to get your nails together for a day or night out.
Dark and Lovely has always been a staple in my household growing up, can’t wait to try their Au Naturale line!
Optimum Amla Legend line is definitely one of my favorites. Their blow out cream does wonders for a silky and shiny blow out!
Organic Root Stimulator (ORS) educated us bloggers about how to take care of our scalps in order to have healthy hair. They had a camera that showed the condition of our scalps in addition to explaining how we can achieve the best scalp condition possible for healthy hair from root to tip. Definitely one of my favorite booths.
The Tone and Smooth N’ Shine booth was a fave of mine as well. I love my plush robe in addition to getting my hair slayed by celebrity hair stylist, Larry Sims. The folks in this booth were very hospital and genuine.
I love seeing a brand grow and develop. Learning about how the Ultra Sheen brand has grown and developed products to match their customer demographic was intriguing. I also got “tatted” with a novelty tattoo from Beyonce’s flash tattoo line.
Loved this panel discussing how to be true to yourself and radiate beauty from within. I also loved the fact that the panel wanted to understand and learn from us bloggers as well. Expertise shared across platforms, genres, and professions for sure.
Highlights from the “Just Be…” boutique. How fab are some of these pieces? I mean, the quality was legit y’all. I was definitely taken back. I love how Family Dollar has incorporated fashion in a way that is affordable without losing the quality of the garment for the price point.
